Who it's for
Yala Club isn't only for venues. If you teach a class in a hired studio, run a supper club in a different kitchen each month or pop up in a cafe now and then, you can sell through us too. When you sign up, pick whichever sounds most like you.
How it works
- Venues: You have a space: a bar, studio, gallery, shop or theatre. Every event sits on your pin on the map, and the people who follow you hear when you put places up.
- Hosts: You run classes, workshops or dinners in halls, studios, kitchens and parks you book. Save the places you use and pick one each time you list an event. Customers see Hosted by you at the space.
- Both: You have your own place but take it on the road too, like a florist with workshops in the shop and pop-ups in cafes. Shop events show on your pin, pop-ups show wherever they are.
What you get
- Dance and fitness teachers: Classes in hired studios, church halls and parks, with a different place each night if you need it.
- Supper clubs and chefs: Dinners in borrowed kitchens, cafes after hours or your own front room.
- Makers and crafts: Pottery, flowers, candles, printmaking. In your studio, at a market or popping up in a shop.
- Tours and walks: Set a meeting point as the place and sell the tour like any other event.
- Shops that run events: Bookshops, record shops, bike workshops and bakeries, in store or out and about.
- Venues trying somewhere new: Running a one-off at a festival or another venue? Add it as a new place on that event.
If you use someone else's space, you need their permission and your own insurance, and you tick to confirm it on every event there. New hosts get paid 7 days after each event, and each event can sell up to £500 of tickets, until they've run 3 events with us. It keeps customers safe while you build a track record.
Questions
I teach in a few different studios. Do I need a separate account for each?
No. One account, and you save each studio as a place. Pick the right one when you list each class.
Do the spaces I use need to sign up?
No. They don't need a Yala Club account. You just need their permission to run your event there.
Will customers think the cafe is running my event?
No. Pop-up and host events say Hosted by you at the place, so it is clear who is running it and who to contact.
I am a venue. Can I still run something elsewhere?
Yes. When you list an event, pick Another location and add the address.
Does it cost any more?
No. The plans, fees and 0% commission window are the same for venues and hosts.
